Welcome to the Plockton Yacht Charters website. We are a small, family run company offering bareboat charters on a Sigma 33 based in the picturesque village of Plockton on the West coast of Scotland. Charters run on a weekly basis starting on Saturday, however weekends and shorter charters may be possible at short notice.
Plockton is in an ideal position to experience some of the most exciting and memorable cruising grounds in the world. Heading straight out takes you into the waters of the Isle of Skye, of which a circumnavigation would be easily possible in a week, with the Outer Hebrides just a short reach out when the weather is appropriate. Heading South allows you to take in the Small Isles and onwards to Coll, Tiree and the Island of Mull.
The cruising limits of the charter give endless destinations to choose from and will satisfy both first time visitors to the area and regular cruisers of this part of the world. Encompassing the East coast of Harris and Uist down to the South end of Mull with the miles of coast line in-between allows a limitless number of itineraries to suit all weather conditions.
The Sigma 33 is one of the most successful cruiser/racers ever built. She is a joy to sail and with a performance better than the majority of boats her size she builds up the miles quickly allowing large areas to be taken in in a short space of time. With a furling headsail, lazy-jacks on the main and autopilot steering she is easy to handle for both full crew or shorter handed sailing.
Downstairs she is comfortable for up to six people with a double bed in the forepeak and a double and two singles in the saloon. Central heating and a well equipped galley with hot water and a two hob gas cooker with oven and grill make for an even more comfortable experience. Fully equipped to MCA Coding Category 2 she carries full navigation gear including two chart plotters (one situated in the cockpit) an additional GPS unit and DSC VHF.
The Shogun is available for week or day bare boat chartering for suitably qualified and experienced skippers.
